Includes drafts and printed versions of the 1945 Conservative Party manifesto entitled "Mr Churchill's declaration of policy to the electors"; a printed version of the Labour Party manifesto entitled "Let us face the future: a declaration of Labour policy for the consideration of the Nation"; and a newspaper cutting detailing the Liberal Party manifesto. All the manifestos cover issues including foreign policy, defence, housing, unemployment, agriculture and food, and education.Also includes correspondence from Ralph Assheton [later 1st Lord Clitheroe], Chairman of the Conservative Party Organisation (3); notes and copies of correspondence from Leslie Rowan and John Peck [Private Secretaries to WSC]; minutes of a meeting held to discuss the Conservative manifesto; and a newspaper cutting relating to the Trades Union Congress manifesto.
