Papers and correspondence on F A Lindemann [later 1st Lord Cherwell]'s candidature, including: copy of Lindemann's election address, on subjects including defence, home affairs and imperial and foreign affairs; prints of letters from Lindemann's supporters, including his executive committee (including Lord Wolmer [later 3rd Lord Selborne], Alan Lennox-Boyd [later 1st Lord Boyd of Merton], John Boyd-Carpenter, Michael Berry [? later Lord Hartwell and 3rd Lord Camrose] and John Townsend), the President and ex-Presidents of the Oxford University Conservative Association (including Ian Harvey) and a list of MP's backing Lindemann's candidature; Lindemann on his campaign, the splitting of the Conservative vote, advice from 1st Lord Rothermere [earlier Sir Harold Harmsworth] to take up a position against the League of Nations, and the election results (2); copy of a telegram to Lindemann from WSC and CSC congratulating him on his campaign.
