Literary work, 1915 - 1985

 Series
Reference Code: GBR/0014/AGHM 2

Scope and Contents

Papers on books by AHM (both published and, mainly, unpublished). The vast majority of the series relates to her work on her father's History of the Paris Peace Conference, which was originally planned to include both his conference diary and the various memoranda which he produced for the Foreign Office on the history of the conference [see HDLM 6/4/65-66 and 6/4/85]. In the event only the diary, published as "A Memoir of the Peace Conference of Paris 1919" was actually completed, but AHM left a large amount of unsorted notes, some unfinished texts and annotated copies of JWHM's memoranda. There are also some files on her planned school textbook on the life of George Washington, written some time in the 1920s, but again apparently unpublished.
