Scope and Contents From the Series: Arthur Stanley Oswald was born on 3 March 1904 in Muswell Hill, London, and educated at Cheltenham School. He matriculated at Queens' College, Cambridge, in 1922, and gained the Bell University Scholarship in 1923. He took Part I Classics (First) in 1924 and the English Tripos (First) in 1926.
