Concludes that some propositions of ethics are 'the natural product of an enlightened selfishness which seeks to ensure to the individual the greatest possible amount of happiness and which finds that it can only attain that end by establishing a society, ... the limitation of the rights of individuals is a necessary condition of its existence and efficiency.'
