Biographical / Historical

Peter William Avery came up to King's in 1958 and was made a Fellow in 1964. He was Dean 1967-8 and Director of Studies in Oriental Languages, retiring in 1990. Peter Avery died on 7th October 2008 in Cambridge.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

PWA/1/Adkins and PWA/2 were collected from the rooms (H2) of the late Peter Avery on 23 April 2009. Two files of records about the College silverwere and three envelopes of negatives and photographs of the College silver transferred to D Munday in December 2013. A scrapbook of photographs from on board HMS Prince George was sent to Churchill College. Two King’s College library books, call marks PSA FUP LWH Y [2] and VAK 9RD MAC Y were returned to the library.
