Biographical / Historical

Sir Henry Dampier came up to King's College from Eton in 1776. He got his BA in 1781 and MA in 1784, and was awarded the members' prize in 1782 and 1783. He entered the Middle Temple in 1781 and was called to the bar in 1788. He was knighted and appointed a judge on the King's Bench in 1813. His son John Lucius (1793-1853) came up to King's from Eton in 1812 and was a poser for Eton admissions to King's during the reforms of the nineteenth century.
