Scope and Contents
Digital copy and printout of a monochrome photograph taken c. 1930s by Edward Shire, from the East end. Part of a G.G. Scott candelabrum is visible as are the tile pattern on the sanctuary floor, the east side of the organ, most of the six westernmost bays of the Chapel up to the ceiling, and parts of the west window.

Biographical / Historical
Edward Samuel Shire (1908-1978, KC 1927) was elected a Fellow of King's in 1933 and worked in the Cavendish laboratory under Rutherford on the enrichment of lithium isotopes. He was Third (Domus) Bursar 1935-39.
