RFK's subject files, 1950 - 1989
Scope and Contents
These files, assembled by RFK and his secretary during the 1950s-80s, cover a variety of subjects: academic, business and personal. They were arranged in 12 sequences, A-R, and their titles recorded in a summary list for reference (see 12/1 below). In the following list, file titles only, as given by RFK or his secretary on file covers, are recorded. The surviving series is incomplete. Readers should be aware that, in several cases, further material on subjects filed here is to be found elsewhere in the collection.

Conditions Governing Access
The majority of the Kahn papers are readily available to scholars in the Archive Centre. Record consultation is by appointment. However, restrictions on access apply to some records, in view of the sensitivity of their contents. Some personal letters are restricted while the author is still living and may be read only with the author's written permission. Some material is reserved. In the College's opinion the contents of these files might be considered confidential or offensive by living people other than the author. There is no access to these files for the time being. Records with restricted access are noted throughout the catalogue.
