The letter and poem were found together in former reference L/9/19 but were presumably brought together by Mary Ruth Brooke or another and not by Gibson. He makes no mention of enclosing the poem in his letter and Edward Marsh in Xd/4 suggests in fact that the poem was written before Rupert Brooke's death.
