Scope and Contents

Photocopies of typescript transcripts in Latin with English translations of documents relating to Prescot (given old reference numbers) and a photocopy of a photograph of 'Prescot Town Chest' from 'Record Society of Lancashire and Cheshire' vol. 89 (1937). The transcripts and translations comprise: Undated Rental of Prescot rectory (Comp. V, 1st division, no. 9 - PRE/12); Copy of a decree of the archdeacon of Chester concerning repairs to the church at Prescot, 28 Apr. 1500 (Comp. V, 1st division, no. 8 - PRE/11); Counterpart lease of the tithes of Rainhill, land called Arrowsmith Field and other land from KC to the vicar of Prescot, 8 Sept. 1478 (Comp. V, 1st division, no. 7 - PRE/10); Indenture concerning the vicarage house at Prescot, 17 July 1458 (Comp. V, 1st division, no. 6 - PRE/9); Commission from the Bishop of Coventry and Lichfield to KC to receive the profits of the church at Prescot during a vacancy caused by his promotion, 14 July 1447 (Comp. V, 1st division, no. 3 - PRE/6); Appropriation of the church of Prescot by the Bishop of Coventry and Lichfield, 1 Oct. 1448 (Comp. V, 1st division, no. 4 - PRE/7); Endowment of the vicarage of Prescot by the Bishop of Coventry and Lichfield, 2 Oct. 1448. (Comp V, 1st division, no. 5 - PRE/8).
