Diaries, 1884 - 1987
Scope and Contents
Diaries into which have been posted notices of professional achievements or obituaries of Kingsmen, and news of King's and the choir, in approximately the dates on which they were printed or received. Notices take the form of newscuttings, memoranda, handwritten notes and letters. The published Birthday Honours (London Gazette supplements) are often present. Most diaries include loose material and some loose material which is listed here was found amongst the diaries, not in any particular diary, apparently awaiting processing.

Biographical / Historical
Jack Peters kept these diaries for many years. He was a [Bursary] clerk who was first employed at King's in 1923. His own obituary was published in the 1991 College Annual Report.

The diaries were wrapped in newsprint in bundles of about 8-10 years, and the bundles all labelled 'N27'.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Except as noted, these were transferred to the Archives from the library store in the Keynes basement, in July 2019.
