Correspondence and family papers of Provost Richard Okes, 1812 - 1900
Scope and Contents
The file comprises mainly correspondence received by Richard Okes, 1850s - 1900, including letters from assorted bishops and William Sterndale Bennett. It also contains a small amount of family correspondence and the following papers:
- appointment of Charles Okes as Lieutenant of Her Majesty’s ship the St Domingo, 8 Aug. 1812;
- card admitting Lieutenant Charles Okes to the Interment of King William IV;
- admission of Francis Okes as Deacon of Bristol, 1814.
