Certificates for redemption of land tax or tithe rentcharge in Abington, Aldeby (Toft Monks), Balons, Barton, Biggin, Brixton Deverill, Bower and Broad Chalke, Cambridge tenements (including 17-19 King's Parade, Peas Hill, St Edward's Passage, the White Horse Inn, late Cory's House), Coltishall, Coton, Cottenham, Dunton Waylett, Finborough (Great Bricett), Fordingbridge, Gardrobe Duke Humphrey, Grantchester, Great Bricett, Hildersham (Abington), Homington (Combe Basset), Horningsea and Fen Ditton, Horstead, Isleham, Kersey, Lessingham, Lindsey (Kersey), Milton, Mockley (Wootten Wawen), Monxton, Ogbourne, Overhall, Ovington, Prescot, Rickmansworth, Ringwood, Ruislip, Ringwood, Stour Provost, Tiverton, Toft Monks, Upavon, Wattisham (Great Bricett), and Wortham.
The alphabetic index was compiled c. 1897 but some earlier certificates are listed later, at the end.
Also includes autograph manuscript letter from J Hen[ry] Middleton to WH Macaulay dated 'May 10', about replacing 'the old plate..[with] its letters filled in with black'.
