Scope and Contents
Comprises:
- letters written by the Provost, the Visitor, the Vice-Provost who was also President of CUMS, and Arthur Hussey of Caius College, about an orchestral performance of the St Paul oratorio to be given in the Chapel in Lent 1884 in combination with, and proceeds to go to, the Choir Mutual Aid Society which comprised the lay clerks of King's, Trinity, and St John's Colleges and was for their survivors' benefit. The Provost and Arthur Hussey objected to this use of Chapel. Relevant extracts from Council minutes are included.
- Undated letter from J Percy Hudson, President of CUMS, asking permission to hold a concert in Hall, with a lettter to the Provost [from A Long, Vice-Provost 1859-71] in support of the project.
