Bursar's accounts, 1620 - 1621
Scope and Contents
Mostly from early 16th century onwards, with indentures of successive Receivers-General, bailiffs and farmers. Summary accounts for all College income and expenditure. For each year are listed the total expenditure in most of these areas: Resolutio Redditus, Pensiones et Vadia, Solutiones pro Com[mons], Emption[nes] Stauri (or Ov[ina] et Bov[ina], Piscerium and Carbon), Solutiones pro Exequiis, Solutiones pro Liberatur, Custus Ecclesiae, Exhibitio Coristar, Custus Equitan, Custus Stabuli, Expensae Necessaria, Feoda et Regarda, Reparationes apud Cantab, Reparationes Novi Templi, Circa Lites et P~lita, Solutiones E Pixide, and de Residua Parte Pecuniar, together with [cross references to another series of accounts] for each item. Irregular items such as Solutiones pro Sylvio or Ferroris are listed. The sums 'omnium allocatorum' and 'omnium receptorum' are given. Also listed are the three bursars' demands upon the receptorum and the three bursars' demands upon the allocatorum. The income, chiefly from estates, is listed by property, including 'Cambridge tenements', with other funds such as Purefoy money and Cizat[iones] et Punit[iones]. Series is incomplete.
