1870s plans for King's Lane Development, 1850 - 1899

 Sub-Series
Reference Code: GBR/0272/KCAR/7/KIL/A

Scope and Contents

Discussions about developing the King's Lane site began in the 1870s, when some Fellows favoured buying the Bull Hotel from St Catharine's College. This scheme did not come to fruition as the Copyhold Commissioners withheld their consent. But in 1876 some tenements in King's Lane were converted into additional rooms for undergraduates, and incorporated into the College.
