Biographical / Historical
The appropriated rectory of Upavon in Wiltshire, along with Barons Farm, was sold to King's College in 1765 after being bequeathed by John Hungerford, MP for Scarborough - the deeds are kept under KCAR/6/2/161/1 UPA/52-54. Further land on the Upavon estate was purchased in the nineteenth century, and eventually sold off in the 1920s along with the bulk of the College's estates.
