Biographical / Historical
Eastbourne Nether Inn was the rectory manor for Eastbourne - although never owned by King's College, it was the property of the treasurer of Chichester Cathedral, a post occupied by John Doget, Provost of King's College until his death in 1501. As lord of the manor, Doget would have received documents relating to the administration of the estate, and these were then incorporated into the College's own estates records.
