Poyntz, Stephen, 1690 - 1750
Scope and Contents
Stephen Poyntz (bap. 1685, d. 1750) came up from Eton to King's, where he resided 1703-06. He was tutor to Lord Townshend's sons from 1709 and then Townshend's private secretary, which took him into the diplomatic corps. This is a photogravure print of an engraving by Faber after a portrait by Fayram.
