Fleetwood, William, 1702 - 1723
Scope and Contents
William Fleetwood (1656-1723) was at Eton College 1671-75 and came up to King's College in 1675. His Fellowship was made in 1678, BA in 1679, and MA in 1683. Eton gave him a Fellowship in 1691. He was successively a chaplain to William III and Mary II, a canon of Windsor, Bishop of St Asaph in 1708, and Bishop of Ely in 1715 - this latter position made him visitor to Trinity College, Cambridge. He is buried in Ely Cathedral. This engraving is by John Simon after a Jonathan Richardson portrait of 1702.
