Impressions: obverse - Henry VI enthroned and crowned under a central tabernacle. In his right hand he holds a sceptre ending in a decorated ornament and in his left hand an orb from which rises a long stem with cross crosslet. His throne has three arches with elaborate tracery. The central tabernacle shows Our Lady, crowned, with Christ on her knee above the King’s head. Two smaller niches with crocketed pinnacles are to his sides, to the left is Our Lady standing crowned, holding the child Christ and to the right is St George standing with a shield of arms, charged with a plain cross. The two side tabernacles show a niche with an oak tree and bird above a shield charged with the arms of France (ancient) and England (quarterly) with a hound below. Two men at arms flank the throne.Reverse - Henry VI on horseback galloping to the right. He wears a closed visor helmet surmounted by a lion crest and a tight-fitting surcoat which reaches to the middle of his thigh. In his right hand he carries a long-grooved sword with a round pommel and short straight quillons attached to his right side by a chain. On his left arm he bears a small heater-shaped shield emblazoned France (ancient) and England (quarterly). His horse is fully caparisoned and has a fan-shaped crest.
