Scope and Contents

In a gothic tabernacle it shows (centre) the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin; she is surrounded by clouds, and angels bear her up to God the Father, whose head and hands appear above; (right) St Nicholas, mitred and robed as a Bishop; (left) the Founder, kneeling in prayer. Legend: "Sigillu: coe preposit scolarium: collegii: rigalis (sic) be marie sci nicholai de cantebr". (Common seal of the College Royal of Blessed Mary and St Nicholas of Cambridge).
