F.L. Clarke's writings, 1441 - 1927
Scope and Contents
In addition to collating and rebinding College archives, Clarke extracted prodigious quantities of information from the records to answer queries about former members, the College site, its accounts, estates, livings etc. The archives catalogued in this section (KCHR/3/1) comprise his output in those spheres of activity.

Biographical / Historical
Frederick Lanceley Clarke was employed variously as Bursar's clerk (1872-1920) and Assistant Librarian (1872-1899) at King's. During his time here and even after his retirement he interested himself greatly in the College's history and acted in effect as College archivist. The College Annual Report of 1921 reports his retirement as Bursar's Clerk, and the Annual Report of 1927 reports his death, aged 73, in July 1927.
