The Health and Safety Committee was started in 1987. It reported annually to the Council concerning the implementation of the College's health and safety policies. Between 1991 and 1993 the Committee did not meet due to the absence of a Domus Bursar. The Committee was reconstituted in January 1993, reporting to the Safety Committee from 1996. The members of the Committee in 1993 were: Domus Bursar, Safety Officer (elected by the Committee), one Fellow (appointed by Council), two Junior Members (elected by KCSU), the College Nurse, two Heads of Department, one Resident Warden and two Safety Representatives (members of staff from different departments). It then became part of the Buildings and Safety Committee.
