King's College owns Millington Road, but at the request of the frontagers, simply acts as a collector of charges for the maintenance of the road and arranges the necessary upkeep when requested to do so by frontagers. For further information about this see MLR/13, note from Ian Barter (29 Aug 1995). Millington Road was created in 1899 when the College purchased land from St John's. In 1924 the road was extended at its southern end, to the west. It is also known as the Barton Road Building Estate. See GRA/827.
