Biographical / Historical
The Rowe Music Library is the most important college music library in Cambridge. It was the gift of an anonymous benefactor who bought the collection of the noted bibliophile Louis Thompson Rowe in 1928. The collection was further strengthened in 1930 by the purchase of part of the music library of Arthur Henry Mann, organist and choirmaster of the College. The Rowe Music Library is briefly described in The Music Review XII (1951), pp. 72-7.
