Biographical / Historical

Previously known as Empire Studentships. The Commonwealth Studentships, set up in 1948, were originally made up of the following Studentships: Orford Studentship (New Zealand), Giblin Studentship (Australia), Grainger Studentship (Canada), Crawford Studentship (South Africa). The Ehrman Studentship was awarded in alternate years to students from Yale and Berkeley, California (USA).
