Scope and Contents
This sub-series comprises the personal correspondence of J.M. Keynes, including all the correspondence previously catalogued as parts of PP/17-19, 20-4, 30-2, 34-7, 38/1-6, L/U, and L/Z, together with formerly uncatalogued material. The primary correspondents were family and friends, including literary and artistic figures such as Rupert Brooke, Clive and Vanessa Bell, T.S. Eliot, Roger Fry, Duncan Grant, G.H. Luce, Bertrand Russell, George Bernard Shaw, Ludwig Wittgenstein and the Woolfs. Other correspondents included Kingsmen such as Oscar Browning, Goldsworthy Lowes Dickinson, G.H.W. Rylands and W.J.H. Sprott. In addition, the file contains a limited number of items exchanged with Keynes' colleagues, but those seeking information on academic, business or government matters will find more pertinent correspondence within the files pertaining to the appropriate body.
