The papers mainly consist of correspondence to members of the Barnes family but there are also writings by George Barnes and Anthony Barnes. There are also photographs and newspaper cuttings.

Biographical / Historical
Anthony Barnes was born on 16 June 1931 to Sir George and Lady Anne Barnes. He was educated at Eton before coming up to King’s College Cambridge in 1951. He received his BA in 1954 and his MA in 1958. He has worked for Schwepps Limited, FIPM, the Royal Opera House and ICI. He is now retired.
