Lytton Strachey leans forward in a deckchair in the centre of the group, looking to the left, with his left hand raised to his neck. Roger Senhouse sits in a deckchair nearest the camera to the right. He has a pipe in his mouth, his are legs crossed, and he looks down at a magazine or newspaper in his lap.
