Professional studio portrait of Mohammed el Adl as a young man, seated in a carved straight-backed chair, holding a flywhisk in his right hand, which rests on a white table with curved stretchers. He is wearing a tarboosh, dark suit, dark waistcoat, bow tie and spats. Taken at Alexandria. Two copies, postcards, 13.7 x 8.7. Both inscribed on back, by E.M. Forster, 'Mohammed el Adl'. (Sleeves 432-3)
