Sand dune with man in foreground

 Item
Reference Code: GBR/0272/EMF/27/639

Scope and Contents

Expanse of rising sand dune, crossed with tracks and footprints, with a man [Paul Cadmus] standing in the foreground, bare to the waist, 1/2 length and facing the camera but looking upwards to the left. Another man [Monroe Wheeler] is standing in the middle-distance, also bare to the waist. Probably taken by Jared French on Fire Island. Print, 16.3 x 10.4. Inscribed on back, by Paul Cadmus, 'You, Jerry, George and I sat below this dune the day / we took that walk with you.' Paul Cadmus has apparently identified the figures as 'Monroe' and 'P' [possibly meaning Paul Cadmus]. (Sleeve 234)
