Professional studio photograph of Alice Clara Forster seated on a carved wooden chair with a fur rug thrown over it. She is holding E.M. Forster round the waist and E.M. Forster's left leg is drawn up. E.M. Forster is wearing a velvet buttoned shift with lace collar. Alice Clara Forster is wearing a dark dress with tucks in the skirt and shoulder-of -mutton sleeves. Taken at Richmond and mounted on card, 16.6 x 10.9 (photograph 14.3 x 9.7). Inscribed in album, by E.M. Forster, 'Mother and self'. (Sleeve 1)
