Scope and Contents

Notebook, comprising notes on Ruskin, lecture notes for a short series of lectures 'Pheidias + Michelangelo' given by CW at King's beginning 17 Nov 1886 about 'the general characteristics of Greek history in its influence upon posterity through the renaissance', a draft letter to Mr. Norton 25 Sept 1887 'not sent' about Directorships of 'the school' and the Fitzwilliam museum, notes for a lecture on 5 Feb 1887 in New York about Greek art, notes on publications by C. Fr. Adams and Palmer, 3 draft letters of a personal nature (one dated 20 Mar 1887 and the others undated) to an unnamed recipient, an essay on Bohemianism. From the other end the volume comprises a journal from c. Sep 1886 and possibly a draft letter to an unnamed recipient.
