Biographical / Historical

'The Society of the Caroline Club' was a playreading society which met at 5 Caroline Place. Members included the Olivier sisters, Mr and Mrs Popham, James Strachey, Francis Birrell, David Garnett, and 'Mr Schloss' [Arthur Waley]. Guests included J. M. Keynes, Duncan Grant, Clive and Vanessa Bell, Saxon Sydney-Turner and Gerald Shove.
