Biographical / Historical

Herbert John Reynolds came up to King's a Scholar from Eton in January 1852. He was a Prizewinner and was made King's Fellow in 1855, in which year he joined the Bengal Civil Service. He was Vice-Chancellor of Calcultta University 1883-4. He retired from the Indian Civil Service in 1889. His wife was born Margaretta Catherine Waring. Herbert died in November 1916.
