Minute Book, 1803 - 1843
Scope and Contents
This volume contains details of meetings of the King's Head Society between 13 September 1803 and 29 June 1843. It includes details of regular, special general and annual general meetings, treasurer's accounts and details of the appointment of Rev. John Pye Smith as theological tutor (27 May 1806). Amongst the reports bound within this volume is one written by the architect Mr. S. Robinson, which suggests the razing of the existing structure at the Academy and the construction of a new building. The minutes of 26 June 1823 suggest "that the Building at Homerton be henceforth denominated 'College', instead of 'Academy', [ampersand] that this Society be designated in the future, 'The Homerton College Society'..." p. 231).
