Scope and Contents

From the File:

This file features the pottery and small finds excavated by A. J. B. Wace and his team during the summer of 1950 at Mycenae. This season, the first to resume after a long hiatus since 1939, made as its focus the Prehistoric cemetery, Tsountas House, the Epano Phournos tholos tomb and the Cyclopean Terrace Building. Additionally, a newly discovered building, at first called ‘Blegen’s House’ or the ‘House of the Stirrup Jars’, was investigated – later to become known as the House of the Oil Merchant.
