Drawings of 1955 miscellaneous finds, 1955
Scope and Contents
These drawings illustrate objects which do not pertain to the categories of ivory or faience objects nor ceramic vessels, and share in common the excavation year of 1955. Three were drawn immediately by P. de Jong in 1955, featuring items excavated in the House of Sphinxes. The terracotta ‘candlestick’ 55-0 was excavated in Tsountas’ Dump within the citadel, in the south-west corner of the Polygonal Tower area by the Cyclopean wall. It was drawn two years later, in 1957, by C. K. Williams.
