Excavation notebook for Prehistoric Cemetery South East Extension compiled by Dorothea Gray. Daily account of excavation, with sketch plans and section drawings, stratigraphy notes and measurements. A summary and pottery notes come after the dig notes, pp. 126-138, written on verso. Further pottery notes are at the back of the book. Across the end paper a plan of Prehistoric Cemetery East was drawn, preceded on p. 158 by a key.
This notebook is a clean copy of MCNE-1-1-027.

Custodial History
Previous reference 'Mycenae Archive' x039 Birmingham transfer Brown Curver Box Originally held in D. H. F. Gray's personal library in her rooms in St. Hugh's College at Oxford University. After her death, it was given to the section of the Mycenae Archive then under the aegis of Drs. K. and D. Wardle, with other of her books. Diana Wardle believes this to be the fair copy done on site shortly after the rough notes notebook was written.

This is a tidy copy made on site of original rough notes made by D.H.F. Gray in a notebook also held in this archive, MCNE-1-1-27.
