Scope and Contents
Excavation notebook V, for July and August 1922 and August 1923, compiled as rough notes by A. J. B. Wace for the Palace, Terrace House and Chamber Tomb 505, the Tombs of Aegisthus and Clytemnestra. Includes sketch plans and section drawings. At the back are lists of site photos taken, lists of pottery and other small finds photographs, Nauplia Museum numbers for earlier Mycenae finds and some fiscal jottings.
4 inserts: 2 plans drawn in ink on 1950s Mycenae Object Index Cards, of the House of Lead and Atreus Ridge respectively.
2 leaves paper - rough notes on pots by AJBW in pencil on the back of a typescript receipt from the Metropolitan Museum of Art dated 25 March 1924; a letter in ink on paper written in Greek from Nicholas Grimanis, dated 15 July 1923, charging 150 drachmas for the installation of 8 iron reinforcing bars for an ancient Mycenaean pot in Nauplion museum.
