Scope and Contents
Excavation Notebook for 1921 compiled by A. J. B. Wace. From April 11th to 22nd, he reported excavation undertaken at Zygouries (north east Peloponnese), in particular in the House of Snails and House of Pithoi.
From Saturday April 23rd AJBW records his work at Mycenae, having arrived there the day before. He includes plans and measurements of tholoi, the neat plans with copious measurements probably made by draughtsman Piet de Jong, the rougher sketches by AJBW. Also notes, papsing lists and sketches for the Lion Gate. List of Mycenae objects photographed in Nauplia Museum in March 1922.
At the back calculations for wages and expenses and an equipment checklist.
1 insert: a note on American School of Classical Studies headed paper, with the address of Theodore Blegen in Minnesota in ink, and some bibliographic jottings in pencil by AJBW.
