Scope and Contents
1920 notebook used twice, firstly as the excavation notebook of A. W. Lawrence and secondly as a pottery notebook by A. J. B. Wace.
15 pp. of excavation notes, 35 ff. of pottery stratification notes. Excavation notes are indexed at the front and cover House K, 2nd Hellenistic Building, North Acropolis Wall, Postern Gate and House i (Granary).
6 inserts: 6 leaves of paper folded in half, handwritten in ink, with pot section drawings in pencil, comprising further notes on pottery from the Palace: the Room North of the West Portal, by W. A. Heurtley. These notes were further annotated by AJBW and as a whole form the basis of the summary on that area published in BSA XXV pp. 217-219.

Blue-grey houndstooth-pattern cardboard cover, handwritten in pencil (A.W. Lawrence) and ink (AJBW), 20 x 15 cm Paginated by Lawrence and foliated by AJBW respectively, according to their individual use of the notebook, starting at opposite ends. ff.48 in total. Fragile. Text block detaching from cover.
