Item
Reference Code: GBR/3437/AJBW/3/52/12
Scope and Contents
From the photograph, it is hypothesised that the object is Sparta Museum No. 139, see Excavations at Sparta : 1906-1910. London: Macmillan, 1910, p. 153. This is a marble pilaster capital dating to the Roman imperial period.
Initially AJBW's index entry in the album was read as '13th' i.e. 13th century (medieval) but perhaps it reads 'Byz' i.e. 'Byzantine'.
