Archaeology Correspondence 1956 - 1962, 1956-11-24 - 1962-12-23
Scope and Contents
Comprising this file of Lord Taylour's correspondence from 1959 - 1962 are a series of letters between Lord Taylour and fellow academics on such matters as book, article and print requests, reviews of each other's works, requests for academics and students to participate in excavations (financial arrangements for travel and boarding included) and requests for information, both academic queries and personal (for instance, Lord Taylour's request for the measurement of some teeth excavated in Pylos in 1957). Moreover there are many references to friends, family and life more generally. Also of note are mentions of Lord Taylour's slide collection and the circumstances surrounding his choice of the Land Rover featured in many of the 35 mm slides.
