Untitled [Sparta Museum sculpture], 1905

 File
Reference Code: GBR/3437/AJBW/3/14

Scope and Contents

64 photographs of stone sculpture and reliefs in the Sparta Museum, Lakonia. Each object is pictured proximate to a museum label with its museum number, therefore the identity of all objects can be ascertained via Wace's catalogue of the Sparta Museum.
1 negative, of a female classical sculpture. I small envelope from a Greek photography studio with AJBW annotations written on it in red pencil and black ink, including the comment 'Can it be drawn?'. The envelope contained two small prints, of a relief entitled by AJBW 'At Dhimitzana' and another from the Sparta Museum annotated by AJBW '442a'.
In the majority, each image has two prints, one more over or under exposed than the other. Some prints have had sections cut out of them by Wace. Fragmentary pieces of photograph are counted as one print in themself but may actually pertain to one of the prints with a section missing.
