Thessaly views, 1909
Scope and Contents
22 positive photographic prints of 11 views of landscape, ancient walls, a monastery, contemporary wattle huts of reeds and archaeological mounds (tells) in Thessaly, Greece. (9 images have two prints each, Item 4 is a single print, Item 10 has 3 prints). An envelope addressed to A. J. B. Wace at Leslie Lodge, Hall Place, St Albans, inscribed 'Photographs' and franked 1909 from Greece, has an additional annotation in pencil by AJBW, 'Thessaly 1909'.
9 negatives correspond to the positive prints, only two lack a negative (Items 2 and 9).
The titles of the photographs have been inferred by the Archivist and did not originate with AJBW.
