Scope and Contents

96 negatives of classical (mainly Hellenistic) sculpture in various European museum collections, casts in the Museum of Classical Archaeology, views of Rome and also of the Wace family on the river in Cambridge. Index at the front written in pencil by AJBW.
Audrey Eugenia Bayard Wace (1882 -1959) was A. J. B. Wace's younger sister and Gaston Frederick Bayard Wace (1890-1950) his younger brother.

The prints from these negatives were placed by Wace in two different albums, of which the first over time has become two separate groups: GBR/3437/AJBW/3/1 (Wace family on the river in Cambridge),
GBR/3437/AJBW/3/2 (Horses),
and GBR/3437/AJBW/3/4 (Classical sculpture in museum collections).

Physical Description

Negative album, olive green waxed cloth cover with press stud fastening to secure front flap, bound on short left edge. H. 8.4 x W. 16.2 cm. 100 glassine sleeves with numbers 1 to 100 printed sequentially in black ink.
Inscribed on flyleaf in ink 'Audrey from Johnny'. 2 leaves of printed index at the front, titles of negatives written in by hand in pencil by AJBW.
Missing from their glassine negative sleeves upon accession to the archives are negatives numbers 42, 93, 99 and100.
