Half plate Negative Album Book 3, bulk: 1905-1910
Scope and Contents
50 halfplate negatives. The Index as filled in by AJBW only goes up to and includes Item 39.
Many negatives removed long before accession to the Faculty Archives, as part of an 'HS Series', by AJBW.
Includes views of Pergamon in western Asia Minor (Turkey), the island of Delos, Geraki and Mistras in Lakonia, classical sculpture in museum collections in Rome and Turin, pottery in Thessaly, the Acropolis of Athens, Lykabettos, the British School at Athens Hostel and finally, a loose negative of the screen of the church in the Kastro (fort) on the island of Skiathos.
Wace excavated at Geraki (the ancient Geronthrae) between May 26 and June 6 of 1905.
British School excavations began at Sparta in May 1906.

Physical Description
Negative album, navy blue waxed cloth cover with press stud fastening to secure front flap, bound on short left edge. Cover embossed in gold print, 'Kodak Negative Album'. H. 15.7 x W. 22 cm. 100 glassine sleeves with numbers 1 to 100 printed sequentially in black ink.
Inscribed on interior of front board in pencil, 'A. J. B. W. Bk III'. 2 leaves of printed index at the front, titles of negatives written in by hand in pencil by AJBW.
Written by hand in black ink on the top left of some sleeves are a series of numbers prefaced by 'HS', starting at HS. 2776 to 2779 (Sleeves 1 to 4), HS 2780 to 2785 (Sleeves 7 to 12), HS 2786 to 2787 (Sleeves 14 and 15), HS 2788 to 2789 (Sleeves 21 and 22), HS 2790 to 2800 (Sleeves 35 to 45). All of these HS numbered sleeves were empty upon accession.
Otherwise, the sleeves all have negatives, except for the following which both lack HS annotation and were also empty of negatives upon accession: Sleeves 23, 26 to 33, Sleeves 47 to 49, Sleeves 87 to 100.
At the back of the album was a loose glassine envelope with a label annotated by AJBW in black ink, 'Screen of Church in Kastro, Skiathos', containing a 7 x 11 cm negative of that image.
